Lina K.O. – “Wash Behind Your Ears”

/

An evolving beauty of a track from Brooklyn-based artist Lina K.O., “Wash Behind Your Ears” from lush, dreamy introspection into cathartic vocal layers, steady percussion, and textured guitars. A stutter-y, buzzing synth component pairs with soaring vocal envelopment for a particularly stirring finale. “They say a change of pace can change someone,” the vocals commence this concluding sequence, sending chills into a title-touting resonance.

The artist first caught our attention last year with the track “Apartments,” and continues to show a penchant for emotively affecting, structurally evolving songwriting. “Wash Behind Your Ears” is part of a two-song release, described by the artist as “b-sides that didn’t fit on my last EP or next album.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
