Gallery 23 – “France is Sinking” (feat. Leah Hueser)

/

Captivating with a nocturnal electro-pop drive reminiscent of Chromatics, “France is Sinking” is a riveting new single from Gallery 23. Featuring the vocals of Leah Hueser, the production excels in its atmospheric momentum — pairing dreamy vocal immersion and a yearning “to just see you,” amidst pulsing synth intrigue. Gallery 23 represents the project of artist Nate Wey, whose vocals emerge thereafter and admit “it’s been so long since we knew what’s real,” as a twanging guitar presence arrives in addition.

The track comes via Gallery 23’s debut release, smiles of a summer night EP, streaming below. Citing “italo disco, shoegaze, and the cinema,” as inspirations, Gallery 23 is a project that thoroughly impresses in its grasp of melody and soundscapes.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
