Eva Nolia Vae – “Sweet Exhaustion”

/

Thematically representative of relief after giving into exhaustion, “Sweet Exhaustion” is a stylishly soulful success from Berlin-based solo artist Eva Nolia Vae. Impressing last month with the single “Feel The Sun,” Eva Nolia Vae continues to preview the upcoming Empty Hands EP, which we’re certainly anticipating.

In regards to the newest track, Eva Nolia Vae explains: “It’s the story of delusion which we all are just as capable of when it comes to our own attitudes as delusion that may occur in a love relationship. Sometimes you just have to defend your misery by surrendering to it. Here’s to the sweetness in exhaustion.”

“Sweet Exhaustion” consumes in its stripped-down, soulful intrigue. Slowly trickling acoustics flutter alongside immersive vocals, moving with smitten sentiments — “give my heart for you.” The ensuing “in my weakness I’ll be free,” lyricism precedes a stirring expanse, and is also enjoyably indicative of the themes throughout into its title-referencing relief. Brass-y flourishes further bolster the intoxicating soundscape; they also play an excitable, sporadic role in the satiating finale. “Sweet Exhaustion” is a gripping showcase in atmosphere and structural momentum from Eva Nolia Vae.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
