Edie Yvonne – “Burn”

/

Enamoring with its range between playfully lush guitars and distortion-touched ardency, “Burn” is the new single from Los Angeles-based artist Edie Yvonne. The single’s October 4th release coincided with Yvonne’s NYC performance at the Vascular Birthmarks Foundation 30th Anniversary Gala. The release marks another success for the emerging artist, who caught our ears last month with the Girl Code EP.

Per the artist, the track captures “when someone blows up their life and you are left behind to try and put out the fire.” This reflective quality shines in the lyrical output — with the “wish you would stay,” serene sequence arising into the distortion-heavy “fire can’t be tamed,” laments. A dreamy, wordless soaring takes hold thereafter into the dreamily satiating conclusion — and the track in general consistently appeals in its heart-on-sleeve emotion. “BURN” represents another stirring success from Edie Yvonne, continuing a very strong 2024.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
