Camelot – “Wellington”

/

A hazy rock appeal shows throughout “Wellington,” a track from Camelot that envelops in both its quainter wordless pulsations and distortion-friendly vigor — finding an enjoyable cross of psych-rock, dream-pop, and alternative. “On the run, searching for some sun,” the vocals let out, escalating seamlessly into shimmering bursts of guitar — and then into a chilly, minimalist vocal expression. “Wellington” consistently invigorates in its smooth blend of laid-back introspection and resonating rock pulsations.

Camelot elaborates on the track’s creative process:

“This song is about how I was on a completely different schedule than everyone else in my life. I was up all night and sleeping during the day while everyone else was still functioning. I was struggling feeling like a person and was a shell of who I was. My roommate also got a dog on a whim that would wake me up from barking early in the morning.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
