Brian Noyes – “Gladys In Aspic”

/

A jangly charmer from Brian Noyes that ruminates on its titular character and the quick passage of time, “Gladys In Aspic” is an immersive success. The release serves as an off-album single, with a new record — Seelie Court — arriving next year. A member of Seattle-based band Tomten and touring keyboardist for SF-based act Papercuts, Noyes unveils a strong sound on this solo output, with emotive vocals and jangling guitars surrounding heartfelt lyricism — complemented by further by bright keys at mid-point, into a final infectious title-touting refrain.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
