Bonnie Lola – “I’m Going Home”

/

“I’m Going Home” is a stellar new single from Indianapolis-based alt-rockers Bonnie Lola, who describe the release as “a moody exploration of the American political climate surrounding gun ownership and gun violence.”

Wordless vocal murmurs and steady percussion drive into hazy guitar distortion, expanding thereafter into a dazed rock immersion. The lyrics artfully exude an introspective composure, rising enjoyably into lingering guitar work and dreamy vocals. “What good are they, if I can’t follow through?” the vocals inquire, with the title-referencing sequence at mid-point also excelling in its soaring guitar lines. “I’m Going Home” is a stirring showing from Bonnie Lola.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
