Backyard Ritual – “Bide My Time”

//

“Bide My Time” is a compelling, synth-touched post-punk single from Backyard Ritual. The New York-based artist impresses with a haunting, melodic sound throughout the newly released album Small World. “Bide My Time” is among its numerous highlights. Eerie synth-laden introduction in the “I try not to think of all the changes outside,” sequence exudes a wintry, observational chilling immersion, with the yearning “come back to me,” punctuation furthering a sense of isolation within the post-punk nostalgia. The moody guitars and vocals pair throughout for an engaging overall sound.
