Anniee – “Let Her Hair Down”

/

“Let Her Hair Down” is a moody synth-pop mover from Anniee, an NYC-based artist. A clash between a “sense of duty,” and being “set free,” is conveyed lyrically amidst dark synth-driven momentum. The cathartic title-reference bridge proves empowering, with the bouncy repetition on the “down,” being particularly infectious. Themes of moving beyond repression, and into a celebrated confidence, firmly resonate within an enjoyable production that balances darkly atmospheric intrigue and an approachably pop-forward central hook.

The track also releases alongside an excellent music video, made in collaboration with director Brad A. Kinnan:

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
