Vento, Ziggy, Hawk & McCarthy – “Spaghetti Western”

/

Pittsburgh-based act Vento, Ziggy, Hawk & McCarthy pay homage to classic westerns with new single “Spaghetti Western,” showcasing the collaborative group’s knack for melodic harmonizing and entertaining lyrical drives. Their blend of acoustic instrumentation combines with an enjoyable idea, conceptualized within a “casual movie conversation between John Vento and his friend Jim Pitulski.” The result is approachably delightful.

“I’m a bad outlaw in a spaghetti western,” the opening vocals proclaim, melding country-tinged nostalgia with shades of classic Italian music. Suave guitars move past the one-minute turn as the lyrics present an open-road intrigue and meal-set readiness — “gonna make ’em ravioli, gonna show ’em how it’s done.” The multi-vocal refrain is consistently replay-inducing with its playful homage to spaghetti westerns and punctuating guitar work. “Spaghetti Western” is a stylish, fun charmer from Vento, Ziggy, Hawk & McCarthy.
