Sunflower Spaceship – “Where Have You Been?”

/

Malaysian rock duo Sunflower Spaceship impress with a climactic dreaminess on new single “Where Have You Been?” — developing with intrigue from bass-heavy introspection into twangy guitar gliding. “I’m not okay,” the vulnerable lyrics admit, as wistful synths complement the trickling guitar work. “The song grapples with the universal question of identity,” the band explains. The lyricism captures self-reflection in quality form, set amidst a lushly enveloping rock sound with a steady balance between hypnotic bass and jangling guitar momentum. A lovely escalation in guitars hits prior to the four-minute turn, and carries into a stirring conclusion.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
