Night Windows – “Gimme Something To Believe”

/

A brief yet memorable track from Night Windows, “Gimme Something To Believe” builds a memorable title-touting refrain alongside burgeoning acoustics and guitar flourishes. Momentum is palpable as the vocal layers gear into slight percussive additions, playing as a compelling lead-in to the subsequent track on the act’s new album In Memories, in the jangly “Nap Till Noon.” Stream these highlights and others across the album, below.

“It sort of stands for us as the heart of the album, this little song,” says member Ben Hughes, who notes that it was initially intended as a bridge. “I kept trying to write songs where Gimme Something could be the bridge. I wouldn’t be satisfied. Would remove is and be left with a complete song. It’s the first time I ever had something like that happen,” he says. “Eventually myself and Tad (my drummer and co-writer of this song) agreed to just leave Gimme Something as is. It seemed to be strong enough by itself, and we loved it.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
