Louise Goffin – “Right Now”

/

Los Angeles-based artist Louise Goffin presents a stirring sound on new single “Right Now.” The production shows a melodic blend of folk, pop, and Americana within eternally poignant thematic pursuits — emphasizing the importance of seizing the moment, and persevering through tumult. Also featuring on the track are an array of talented musicians, including Chris Whitten on drums, Fernando Perdomo on guitar and bass, and Darian Sahanaja on piano.

Twangy guitars and reassuring vocals combine for a stirring production. “Keep each other off the ledge, say the things we haven’t said right now,” Goffin sings with heartfelt immersion; the vocal tone is fondly reminiscent of Camera Obscura.

A title-touting repetition gears seamlessly into the subsequent verses, remarking the “past is a shiny coin,” as nostalgic piano bounces emerge alongside guitar swipes for a ’60s pop shimmering. “Meet me at the broken edge,” the replay-inducing chorus begins again, driving into a lovely finale on this standout of a track from Louise Goffin.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
