King Ropes – “Radio Jane”

/

Montana-based act King Ropes unveil a psychedelic Americana appeal on new single “Radio Jane.” The track precedes their upcoming album IDAHO, and plays as an homage to a song of the same name by the Love Darts. “It’s kind of a song about their song,” frontman Dave Hollier laughs. “I love their song! This should be all over the radio. At the same time, I’ll do my best to one-up them in terms of making mine be the hit.”

The track’s momentum is enjoyably palpable to start; panting percussion and suave bass escalate quickly into twinkling keys and buzzing guitars. The title-touting chorus finds Hollier’s debonair vocals engaging with a confident infectiousness, capped off by lingering guitar doses. “Sometimes I stumble, it’s not subtle,” admissions traverse into another delightful chorus, balancing a spirited replay-inducing call-out with an understated rhythmic drive.

“Radio Jane” is a melodic success from King Ropes, whose desert-set rock soundscape and contagious “radio Jane,” repetition lead a memorable production from the rising act.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
