Jitensha – “Sweet Talk”

/

Canadian indie pop duo Jitensha strut a playfully melodic charm on new single “Sweet Talk,” infusing bass-fronted verses, harmonious vocal effects, and twangy guitar delights. Releasing ahead of their upcoming album Closing Statements, “Sweet Talk” enamors in its easy-going yet climactic structural momentum — building seamlessly from rhythmic pulsing and quaint introspections into twinkling keys and jangling guitars. Celebratory vocal effects adorn the end of various lines, adding an infectious quality to the overall mix.

“Don’t call my name, I have to go,” the vocals let out during one of the bass-led verses, complemented by perky guitar work as lush vocal layers intertwine. “Can lovin’ save me?” they ask thereafter. “Sweet Talk” is a replay-inducing success from Jitensha, comprising David and Rosey, who met in 2012 in Vancouver and have since crafted an array of lovely sounds from their home studio in the Laurentian mountains.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
