Infinitefreefall – “You Ask a Lot of Questions”

/

A stirring single out today from Infinitefreefall, “You Ask a Lot of Questions” initiates with a sweltering wall of guitar distortion and into a questioning vocal ardency. “What am I doing with my life?” they compel into a title-touting bite; there’s a briefness of spacious introspection upon this sequence’s commencement, bolstered thereafter by the re-emergence of whirring guitar intensity. “You Ask a Lot of Questions” is an exhilarating success from the band, who impressed last month as well with the track “Desecrated Landscape.”

John Dwyer (Thee Oh Sees) is cited as a prominent influence for the track. “This song is a tribute to his adventurous psych-garage style, complete with a familiar riff at the very end,” says vocalist and guitarist Maxton Stenstrom, who further elaborates that the release is “a celebration of doubt. I don’t have all the answers! And I don’t want them, either.”

“You Ask a Lot of Questions” also represents the second-to-last song written for the band’s upcoming album, which we’re firmly anticipating.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
