Humdrum Book Club – “Boyfriend”

/

“I wanna be your boyfriend,” yearning vocals admit amidst throbbing synths and guitar flourishes on new single “Boyfriend,” driving into a memorable chorus that admits not knowing how to convey such feelings.

Described as “synthy, cheesy and melody heavy,” the memorable production is a melodic charmer from Venice, California-based project Humdrum Book Club, which comprises songwriter Andrew Ross and producer John Helfrich. The verses resemble the playful synth within Blur’s “Girls & Boys,” fondly, while the central hook dazzles in its replay-inducing radiance and invigorating vocal rise.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
