Franc Loz – “Crossroads”

/

The debut single from Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Franc Loz, “Crossroads” traverses across an array of burgeoning guitar twangs, steady acoustics, and piano flourishes. “This song is about wishing you could press pause for a bit, think about what kind of life you want to live, and be honest with yourself, despite the risks,” the Mexican-American artist explains.

Ruminations on a broken system, and personal motivations, lyrically complement a melodic production — moving seamlessly between moments of more distortion-heavy ardency and frolicking piano-touched brightness. A soaring vocal presence past the three-minute turn is especially memorable. “I just want the time to stop / The thought of it is crushing me,” continues the heartfelt sentiments, set within an enjoyably dynamic rock aesthetic.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
