David Taro – “Numb” (feat. Hannah Busse)

/

London-based artist David Taro strives for hope amidst a tumult-filled world on new single “Numb,” a memorably melodic production also featuring the gospel-touched backing vocals of Hannah Busse. A relatable thematic drive persists, weighing the temptation of shutting off all the noise/chaos against the more virtuous potential of becoming an active part of societal betterment.

Comforting, lush guitar twangs drive into a morose vocal declaration: “There is no good news anymore.” Depictions of a modern hellscape, and how that can inspire one’s brain to shut down, combines with the playful guitars and blaring organs for a sympathetic call — striving to believe in love in humanity, and goodness within one’s soul.

“But looking at what’s going on,” the vocals continue their introspection, within an approachably melodic arsenal that’s apt within the aspirations for a more harmonious world that embraces service unto others. “Numb” is a memorable piece of songwriting with hopeful soulfulness from David Taro.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
