A couple of recent singles from Kansas City-based artist Dan Camino, “Dreamgirl” and “Connections” showcase a dreamy, jangly rock charm. Also the frontman of Field Daze, Camino melds heartfelt lyricism with hooky structural tendencies. “You’re my world, baby you’re my dream girl,” smitten vocals admit on “Dreamgirl,” where enchanting guitar flutters and sporadic twangs compel.
“Connections” shows a playful demeanor in its bouncy bass line, guiding seamlessly into the aspirational “I think I really wanna try.” It’s another replay-inducing success, engrossing with its jumpy guitar spurts and “take a walk,” catchy refrain. We’re looking forward to what’s next from Camino.
