Cherry Hill – “When the Bombs Start Dropping”

/

Described as “a happy yet subversive alternative rock song about the end of the world,” “When the Bombs Start Dropping” is a memorable new track from Cherry Hill. The Iowa-based project drive into a memorable title-touting chorus, lamenting that “my mind wasn’t made,” for times of such tumult — complemented by ensuing verses with a hazier, subdued introspection. “It’s a nuclear winter, but I’m not bitter,” the vocals come to terms, escalating into another hooky satiation as sirens ring out and “toxic gas,” descriptions arise. “When the Bombs Start Dropping” is a melodic showing from Cherry Hill.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
