Shrimp Planet – “Angeline”

/

Hazy guitar strums and warming brass open “Angeline” with compelling qualities, moving into a debonair croon that enthralls throughout; the track is the latest from Shrimp Planet, and thoroughly impresses in its sense of lounge-set yearning. “My angel,” the vocals begin during a striking shift, approaching the two-minute turn. The twangier, understated guitars and melancholic tonal touch culminates in the “my love for you is very real,” convincing — and then into another title-touting vocal hook. “Angeline” is a stirring, hooky success from Shrimp Planet.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
