Richard Green – “Wrinkles”

An exuberant single propelled by prancing piano and bright strings, “Wrinkles” is a track from Richard Green and his The Circle Closes EP. The London-based artist excels in his emotive songwriting, played gorgeously by pianist Irene Veneziano and with strings by the Archimia Strings Quartet.

Recorded at Italian music studio Elfo Studio, the EP succeeds in its melodic production and thematic direction — which on “Wrinkles” is representative of “the last chapter of our lives,” per Green. “The passing of time brings tiredness and my hope to everyone is to reach that
moment tired but happy to have lived the life we desired,” he continues.

“Wrinkles” evolves with enjoyable momentum, expanding gradually from twinkling piano to lush string adornments; they converge with melodic impact, as piano emerges with a brief emphasis at mid-point before building into another beautiful progression of string layers. “Wrinkles” is a stirring success from Green, from a fully worthwhile EP.
