One Whole Hand – “The Signs”

/

Australian act One Whole Hand combine clanging bass-y intrigue with dynamic vocal intrigue — spanning from post-punk directness to dreamy lushness — on new single “The Signs.” Goth-rock and ’80s inspirations add to the stylish aesthetic. Brisk bass and panting wordless vocal intrigue assemble for an initial entrancement, as the “I need some medicine, I need a lover,” leads vocal reveal embraces the post-punk spectrum fully. Serene synths and hazier vocal effects appear thereafter, traversing seamlessly between bass-y bounces and hypnotic calmness. “The Signs” is a stirring output from One Whole Hand.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
