My Glass World – “Compassion For Animals”

/

“Compassion For Animals” is a new single from London-based act My Glass World, compelling with its assortment of blaring brass, key-driven intrigue, and poignant lyrical observations. An artful pop appeal results, melding the free-flowing saxophones and wavering key tones amidst modern vocal commiserations — “I get tired of living in this little white box. I don’t wanna hear any more TED talks.” Further commentary explores the suffocating nature of present life, whether in the form of lockdowns or technological suffocation — where influencers and “TED talks,” seem to prevail over one’s personal experiences.

“Give me the love I’m waiting for,” a consuming vocal refrain begins in the conclusion, also noting to “have some compassion for animals.” The track dazzles in its intriguing production and debonair vocal styling, Jamie Telford’s vocals and keyboards meld wonderfully with Sean Read’s saxophone and woodwind work. “Compassion For Animals” marks another success for My Glass World, who also recently put out a standout full-length, Assorted Marvels, streaming below:

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
