Melted Computer – ‘Saturday’ EP

/

San Diego-based artist Melted Computer unveils a compelling electronic direction across Saturday, their debut EP. Synthwave, vaporwave, and future funk influences meld within riveting soundscapes, spanning from lush dreaminess to funk-laden grooves. The creative edge is apparent quickly with opener “Cat Time,” where hazy synths and clamoring percussive momentum pair with meow-ing effects for a delectably odd journey.

“Jump on the Radio” follows with a bouncier rhythmic momentum, combining enjoyably with title-touting vocal samples, buzzing synth pulses, and starry-eyed backing pads. Another highlight, “Tuning On” continues the sense of radio-dial adventuring, as vaguely warped vocals fade into synth layers that throb, trickle, and all-out consume. “Every Saturday Ends” concludes the EP with satiating impact; a balmy, airy backing provides a sense of illumination, as bass-y drops emerge with intermittent charisma. Saturday is an enveloping electronic success from Melted Computer.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Electronic.
