litesleeper – “Hertz” (feat. Shannon Kait)

/

Invigorating with an escalating pop flair that spans from synth-laden electronic immersion to danceable piano infectiousness, “Hertz” is the gripping debut single from litesleeper. The Northampton, UK-based group teams up here with Shannon Kait, whose dynamic vocals enthrall; they seamlessly shift between more debonair verses and a soaring intrigue, as a bass-y immersion takes hold past the two-minute mark. litesleeper’s consuming aesthetic emphasizes both electronic production and organic sounds, and “Hertz” is enjoyably exemplary of such.

A particularly hooky emergence comes past the three-minute mark. Wordless vocal momentum melds into snappy percussion and assembles into a melodic lyrical exuding, captivating alongside bursting bass and danceable synth flashes. A solemn piano-driven shift occurs as the final minute enters, entering into a nocturnal intrigue following 3+ minutes of engaging momentum. “Hertz” is a thorough success from litesleeper, which formed in 2022 by the duo Gabriel Halford and David Crawford.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Electronic.
