La Mode – “4 AM”

//

“It’s 4AM in downtown,” moody vocals emit alongside glistening synth intrigue on the new single from La Mode, a project comprising producers Samir Dahmani and Ian Elrick. “4 AM” is an atmospheric delight, infusing a gently throbbing bass line with serenely chilling synth work as confident vocals strut a magnetic appeal; the style reminds of a cross between Cut Copy’s hook-friendly synth-pop and Chromatics’ more nocturnal, enigmatic flair.

The “I remember when,” sequence is especially compelling, adorned with effervescent synth sparkling as the vocals enter into a stylish guitar-fronted sequence. The debonair guitar tones excel into a conclusion that fades out with a satiating glow. La Mode’s “4 AM” is on repeat, for sure.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
