Ukrainian artist Janeuary melds escalating piano and gorgeous string arrangements amidst stirring vocals on “Loving you,” a memorable ballad with a strong sense of personal strength and yearning alike. “Just wishing you to hold me,” the stirring vocals convey. “I feel your hands on my shoulders,” they continue against a minimalist piano-laden backdrop, as plucky strings enter thereafter and then evolve into a whirring sense of grandiosity in the ensuing violins.
“I don’t need nobody else!” the vocals declare with cathartic effect during the track’s climax, where ascending strings and steady piano tug at the heart. “Loving you” is a sturdy showcase in quality songwriting, which is prevalent throughout the other tracks on Janeuary’s new album Nineteen nights, streaming below. The vampire-themed music video is also compelling, and befitting within the impactful lyricism — exuding a sense of striving for emotional satiation. “Loving you” is a strong showing from Janeuary.
