Corner Sun – “Dumpster Fire” + “Muddy”

NYC-based band Corner Sun show a strongly melodic, personal rock and pop appeal on their and eat it too… EP. Subdued keys and reflective commentary stir on “Dumpster Fire,” which laments “now I’m alone ’cause you’re mad that we kissed,” into a punchy rock-forward invigoration. “I was out of town,” the anthemic segment begins, exuding a more cathartic confidence compared to the initial brooding. The traversal from relationship complexity commiserations to infectious rock heights showcases the project’s dynamic reach.

Similarly, opening track “Muddy” melds bright organs with reflections on how to “rip my pages clean,” and an outpouring of emotions and self. Bluesy, sweltering guitars at mid-point enamor, seamlessly moving into an ardent vocal captivation, thanking one “for the pain,” as organs and playful guitars intertwine. Corner Sun impress with a range of melodic songwriting and production throughout the EP, streaming below:

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
