CAVN – “Late August”

/

London-based producer CAVN thoroughly consumes on her third single “Late August,” an instrumental tour-de-force with an emphasis on enveloping string arrangements. CAVN’s first instrumental single release, “Late August” continues to showcase the artist’s myriad of influences — here, especially, in the cinematic and orchestral music spectrums. The track is described as “a musical vessel for nostalgia,” — emitting senses of longing that conjure past heartbreak and struggles, epitomizing the turbulent yet emotively fierce nature of growing up.

A layered procession of emotive, cinematic strings converge with gorgeous enticement — conveying a sense of spacious grandiosity into a brief pause after the one-minute turn. A more triumphant tonal brightness is apparent there, moving with intrigue into a wailing brass-y component in the final minute; the culmination of strings into this separate tonal array proves spine-tingling, and enjoyably representative of the project’s talented songwriting. “Late August” is a commanding display in atmosphere from CAVN.
