Very Busy People – “Pale Blue Dot”

/

Austin-based act Very Busy People craft a contemplative, melodic longing on “Pale Blue Dot.” Shades of The Replacements’ “Sixteen Blue” shows aesthetically, within a dreamier and elegant arsenal that infuses sporadic piano twinkling amidst the crawling guitars and forlorn vocal melodics. The worry-laden vocal escalation stirs amidst the layered guitars and murmuring backing vocals, adding further warmness. “I’m not in a hurry,” they continue, feeling like an antidote to frequent tumult, and choosing to celebrate in life’s beauty rather than the overwhelming prospects of things going awry.

The band describe the track as “about how the massive scale of the universe can be scary and overwhelming but also liberating. Life is a gift – use it how you please as long as you aren’t hurting others.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
