The Young Man – “Makeshift Lullabies”

/

A bursting yet reflective quality shows throughout “Makeshift Lullabies,” a new track from The Young Man with melodic alt-pop immediacy. The rising act build from the verses’ introspections into a contagious chorus — “do you remember phone calls all night, makeshift lullabies?” — that exhilarates with its pulsing guitars and anthemic vocal swell.

The ensuing “do you miss those…” reflections beckon to a relationship’s previous highs, furthered by yearning with the synth-touched verses. “I don’t know how we got here,” they lament further, poignantly capturing a deteriorated relationship within an infectious, replay-inducing pop/rock arsenal.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
