The Neuromaniacs – “Remnants”

“Remnants” is an effervescent, atmospheric fusing of rock and electronica — representing the second single from The Neuromaniacs, the project of Irish artist Johnny Brewer. The heady instrumental presents a spacious, contemplative unfolding; electric guitar soaring and illuminated synth components alike intertwine with cohesive mastery. The various tonal pursuits are enjoyably reflected in the track’s music video (above), which also emphasizes the circular thematic themes within, via the swirling imagery and wide breadth of colors.

“This instrumental piece is inspired by the idea that circles make up a large part of life and our universe and everywhere we look there are remnants to the beginning of time and the creation of the galaxies,” Brewer explains. Spacey synths and sturdy percussion initially assemble, venturing grippingly into escalating guitars that concur with bursting synth enhancement. The seven minutes that follow are consistently compelling, from the choir-like vocal effects to the guitar work’s re-emergences. “Remnants” is a memorable listening experience, from start to finish.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
