Strawflower – “Indigo”

/

One of many highlights from Strawflower‘s debut album, “Indigo” melds brisk rhythmic pulses with a harmonious ’70s inspiration, evident in the “where do we go?” hook. The verses, meanwhile, enamor with a touch of funky charisma and enjoyable dexterity. Thumping percussion and spacey synths intermingle enjoyably as the trickling guitars signal into suave vocals, lamenting they “just can’t let it go,” and are stuck in an insomnia-driven rut of sorts. The caressing, title-referencing chorus provides an enjoyably spacious introspection, cohesively guiding into the infectious verses. “Indigo” is a stirring, melodic mover from Strawflower.
