Solar Bloom – “Sakura”

/

A stellar new single from Solar Bloom, “Sakura” enamors with a hypnotic pop pulse, inspired by the New Jersey-based artist’s recent trip to Japan. The trickling guitars and melodically mellow vocals, combined with the Japanese thematic inspirations, remind enjoyably of Last Dinosaurs. The track is described as exploring “coming to terms with loss and impermanence by traveling to a new part of the world.”

A state of lyrical smitten — “it’s delicate the way you bloom, Sakura, I might be getting high on you,” — dazzles into twinkling keys and serene guitar work as the three-minute turn approaches. The track’s crisp production and layered, melodic vocals make for a replay-inducing delight.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
