Neon Massacre – “Hey Siri”

/

A piano-set introspection stirs on “Hey Siri,” a compelling new single from Neon Massacre. The singer/songwriter is originally from North Wales, and is presently based in Liverpool. The track enamors in its escalation from riveting balladry into a soaring finale, remarking a “think of you every night,” yearning as the vocals strut an impressive elongation to close it out.

Gentle piano and nature sounds resemble an initial stroll in the park, as the vocals let out a sincere call: “Hey Siri, I have a million questions.” A modern poignancy lingers in the questioning of a relationship’s demise, and looking for some sort of answer, even from a digital assistant. “Hey Siri, keep your ears to the ground,” they continue, with the “he took me for a ride,” ascent bolstering the palpable mood amidst backing vocal reflections. “Hey Siri” is a powerful, effective showing from Neon Massacre.

“This is a ballad about the sudden termination of a relationship,” the artist explains. “The song revolves around the ‘bargaining’ stage of wondering why someone withdrew from a deep connection and essentially screaming into the void under the guise of Siri.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
