Monster Planet – “Blinded”

//

A newly formed project from Kansas City, Monster Planet struts an evolving pop captivation on new single “Blinded.” Synths and guitar intermingle with beautiful results, as vocals ascend from lush ruminations into anthemic pop spirit. Themes of “heartbreak and betrayal,” play impactfully as lyrics admit being “lost in confusion.”

Dreamy vocal immersion takes immediate hold, exuding a hazily wordless charm amidst quaint synths and emergent piano twinkling. “You just sat there and watched me bleed,” a debonair vocal presence lets out, as crunching guitar pulses and a spacey synth lingering build enjoyably into a soaring declaration: “It’s all just an illusion.” The synth/guitar interplay and escalating vocal engrossment — from quaint introspection to multi-layered hookiness — combine for a consistently enamoring sound, with multiple replay-inducing moments. “Blinded” is a clear winner from Monster Planet.

The artist behind the project, Julia DeSimone, describes the track further:

“Blinded captures the agony of heartbreak of being blindsided by the one you trusted most. Reflecting on the struggle to make sense of it all and the pain of betrayal, yet also the relief of finally seeing their true colors. Each lyric and melody captures this bittersweet journey of emotional turmoil and newfound clarity”.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
