Marina Vanoff – “carousel”

/

A melodic rock contemplation stirs on “carousel,” a recent single from Los Angeles-based artist Marina Vanoff. “I can’t stay here forever,” solemn vocals exude amidst chilly guitar tones, admitting further “I wish it could be you forever.” The carousel-like imagery of “going in circles,” further emphasizes the relatable theme — that being the experience within a relationship, where love exists though also the knowledge that the relationship just isn’t a right fit.

“We’ve been all this carousel forever, why don’t you ever get tired of going in circles?” the vocals convey further frustrations, tragically painting the scene of a complex relationship — where one is ready to move on, and the other seems content and somewhat oblivious. “It captures the struggle of loving someone good but knowing they’re not the right fit, and the resentment that can come from it,” Vanoff says of the track. An emotionally gripping success, “carousel” is a strong piece of songwriting from Marina Vanoff.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
