LosA – “Move Different”

/

Los Angeles-based artist LosA delivers a climactic pop mystique on new single “Move Different,” moving from late-night soulfulness into glistening guitar-laden effervescence. LosA’s vocals prove equally dynamic in their swell from contemplative lushness into soaring passion, culminating in the “dancing every night,” bridge, which shows shades of TOPS with the chirpy synths and atmospheric guitars. A bird-chirping ambience lingers underneath, bolstering the serene pop entrancement, alongside field recordings of a rainy beach in Portugal. The production from Brian Squillace (LANNDS) dazzles.

The track serves as the first single from LosA’S debut 6-track EP, YOU ARE HER.E. The initial demo was described by LosA as resembling a “magical mystical dreamy forest,” with some aspects — like the fluttering synths and bird-chirping — certainly retaining that natural spirit. The forest-friendly atmosphere of San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music Festival is another particular influence, as are memories of dancing with friends during the years she lived in upstate New York. “Move Different” is a standout pop success from LosA.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
