Damndest – “The Blight”

/

A serenely dazed rock entrancement captivates on “The Blight,” the new single from Damndest. The dual-vocal power of Tim O’Keefe and Alana Sacks is enveloping throughout, aligned with droning guitars and steady rhythmic hypnotics. Responsive vocal echoes add to the heady mix, ascending into murmuring guitar beauty as the one-minute turn approaches. “When the tears mean nothing,” O’Keefe lets out thereafter, as Sacks follows up with dreamy immersion. Heavier guitar distortion adds gorgeously in the second half, further bolstering the duo’s riveting vocals. “The Blight” has us excited to see what’s next from Damndest.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
