Breezy the band – “Telemaster”

/

A strong rock entrancement shows on “Telemaster,” a new single from Breezy the band, a Portland, Oregon-based act that formed in 2018. The track’s production conjures a heady nostalgia, drawing from ’70s garage psych as crawling bass, sporadic guitar bursts, and enveloping melodic turns emanate throughout.

Verses intrigue with the thumping bass prominence and suave guitar pulses. “I want you to know,” the vocals intensify in the bridge, culminating in whirring guitar excitement in the gripping chorus. The second half continues the fervency, satiating fully in its build-up from quaint guitars into a roaring ferocity.

“Telemaster” marks a standout success from Breezy the band, who describe the release’s lyrical emphasis as delving deep into “the historical use of zealotry and religious dogma as tools of control and justification for war, offering a powerful commentary on the manipulation of faith for destructive ends.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Rock.
