Borrowed Joy – “SlowBurn”

/

Denver-based act Borrowed Joy strut a confident array of guitar-driven rock and synth-touched pop on new single “SlowBurn,” described as “a song about resisting seductive passion in order to find true love.” “I need a slow burn,” the vocals admit during the magnetic chorus, where twanging guitar escalation and a shimmering synth backing combine with stellar effect. “You’re just a heatwave,” they continue, perhaps referencing an insatiable burning desire, and doing so effectively within a melodic, replay-inducing arsenal.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
