Rushkeys – “Maya”

/

Presenting a serene, shimmering electronic pop sound with a calming flow resembling ocean waves in the summer, “Maya” is the latest success from Rushkeys. The project of Lithuanian electronic artist and producer Domas Ruškys continues to impress with a grippingly atmospheric sound, melding steady percussive elements with submerged vocal flourishes and bubbly synth elements. The grooving rhythms and soaring vocals converge with a blissful allure, particularly when the galloping percussion and elongated vocals intertwine approaching the two-minute turn.

A hazy intrigue expands into booming bass and clanging effects, reflective of a world music inspiration within a glistening backing of synths and rhythms. The book-ends dazzle in their bouncy pulsations, while the mid-point enamors in its more reflective dreaminess. “Maya” is another impressive display in atmospheric production and climactic structural development from Rushkeys.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
