he album’s creative process commenced initially as a way for Montanà to experiment with jazz brush drum patterns, apparent throughout the release within cinematic soundscapes with electronic adornments. The opening track “Like Dew” is enjoyably illustrative of the album’s knack for tonal escalations, swelling from a simmering orchestral lushness into a brisk assortment of chilly keys and percussive impacts. “Vilu” is another standout, injecting effervescent synth pads — reminiscent of Boards of Canada — into a beautiful assortment of playfully melodic illumination and steady rhythmic hypnotics. VION is a tremendous output from Lorenzo Montanà.
