Electrons in Slow Motion – “Machine Devotion”

/

An engrossingly atmospheric new single from Electrons in Slow Motion, “Machine Devotion” precedes the Romanian artist’s upcoming full-length, MEKANIKARU. The album title itself evokes the futuristic, cinematic feeling of the project’s sound on “Machine Devotion” — with MEKANIKARU referring to “a highly skilled agent entrusted to negotiate with the colossal synthetic mind of a technological city, in the name of its citizens.” Heady percussive elements and string-laden majesty converge for a riveting sound, befitting of the futuristic notions in the upcoming album’s title.

Echoed, click-clacking rhythms craft a hypnotic allure, while the twangy intrigue of the underlying instrumentation captivates alongside. An ethereal use of strings sends chills past the one-minute turn, furthering the track’s elegant soundscape. A more forceful percussive enhancement shows at mid-point, culminating in a soaring array of layered textures that ends the track with satiating effect. “Machine Devotion” is an alluring, atmospheric success from Electrons in Slow Motion.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Electronic.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
