Edgar Everyone – “U PUSH ME”

/

A debonair pop success from Edgar Everyone, “U PUSH ME” implements a heady bass envelopment amidst sporadic, glimmering synths into a fantastic title-referencing hook. “You push me out…” the vocals begin, as illuminated synths and vibrant percussion traverses into a whirring excitement. The track’s deft alternation between funky bass movements and spirited synth blares makes for a palpable sense of momentum throughout, bolstered further by a dynamic vocal presence that moves between suave introspection and punchy, bright hookiness.

Wong Kar-Wai’s 1994 film Ashes of Time is a notable influence; per the artist, the track “chronicles a lone traveler’s journey towards self-discovery, swayed by romantic encounters and infatuation.”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
