Los Angeles-based sisterly duo Neska Rosa present a compelling alt-pop sound on new single “Aware.” Produced by David Greenbaum, the track excels in its range from elongated vocal intrigue in the verses to a punchy, charismatic hook. “I don’t speak ’cause you complicate it all,” the vocals admit during that memorable chorus, leading into a memorable “I am guilty,” bridge with psychedelic chamber-pop appeal. The infectious chorus re-emerges again thereafter, exemplary of the project’s tonally dynamic chops.
Embracing a ’90s nostalgia in the vocal presence especially, which exudes a sense of rage and discontent, “Aware” stirs in its escalating structural quality and overall thematic aim.
