An enthused, anthemic rock sound culminates on “Alright, OK!” — a new single from The Candid. The Nashville-based band kickstarted the month with the single release of “Alright, OK!” and it represents their first new music in over three years. The title-touting chorus invigorates with its punchy vocals and guitar pulses, book-ended by an approachably melodic plea — “don’t go anywhere,” — and a dreamy sequence thereafter. A series of singles are slated to come from The Candid in the months ahead, and “Alright, OK!” certainly has us anticipating them.
Singer/songwriter Delaney Willson elaborates more on the track:
“I wrote “Alright, OK!” about nearly pushing away a girl that knew me better than I knew myself. Her utter confidence in our relationship really scared the s*** out of me when it should have brought me comfort. This song is about admitting that fear and trying to let myself be loved fully and truly for the first time. I hope it gives people listening the confidence to lean into their relationships with every fiber of their being. To say “Alright, OK!” even when it feels the hardest.”
