Jake Timeline – “miss connection”

/

A catchy pop single exploring the entertainment quality of missed connections and dating mishaps, “miss connection” comes via California-based artist Jake Timeline. Suave vocals and bass-y reverberations lead into the “here’s my information,” conveying, accompanied by spacey synth flourishes into a hooky chorus. “Let’s do remote work from the bedroom,” the vocals let out here, referencing “Marxist pixie dreamers,” and tech-driven contradictions in ensuing verses with a playful, humorous charm — wrapped in a modern poignancy.

The track’s stellar production aligns with relatable and encouraging thematic aims, one that comfortably reminds that the awkwardness of meeting new people and first dates is simply part of life — and there’s a sense of “humor and grace about it all,” per the artist. “Sure sometimes people find mr./mrs./mx. right, but a lot of life is getting comfortable with ‘miss connection.’”

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
